Sewing Machine Miracle

Good news.  My husband fixed my sewing machine.  He found a quarter jammed in there somehow and now it works.  Huzzah, Magic Powers!

So I got in the mood to sew a couple things to add to my Christmas decor.  One was a runner to cover the top of my beautiful piano and protect it from the fun Christmas items I like to display on there.  In years past I took this piece of remnant fabric and folded the weird shapes leftover from making a vest into a rectangle and carefully arrange it on top.

I also made a cover for the media entertainment shelf.  We have our modem, Blu-ray player, Wii, and often the laptop up there for a few years now.  The shelf was originally purchased 10 years ago so I could teach our oldest how to hang clothes up when he was 4 years old.  Now the hooks for holding a rod are just an eyesore to me.  We do put the rod there and hang the stockings up on Christmas eve but the rest of the year they are not in use.

I am so pleased with it I may leave there after Christmas too.
